Ethiopian Electric Power signed an agreement of over 2 billion birr for the purchase of different transmission lines
The organization has announced that it has determined seven local organizations using an open tender to buy 17 types of transformers.
Yesterday, the agreement was also signed between Ethiopian Electric Power and two selected organizations.
Ethiopian Electric Power Chief Executive Officer, Shiferaw Telila, said there will be an agreement within the next days with the remaining five organizations.
According to the CEO, the procurement agreement is of great significance to the increasing demand of the electric power in the community and to provide efficient service to customers.
The representatives of the two organizations expressed their commitment to produce and deliver high quality transformers in accordance with the timetable as described in the agreement.
The agreement will implemented in two chapters and lasts for a year. It is said to include 4,978 transformers with a capacity of from 50 to 1,250 kilowatt ampere.
It is also said that this will fix the problem of 60,000 loyal customers, who have paid the necessary payment and waiting to get electric power service.
