The Eritrean President Esayas Afeworki is in Addis Ababa for a two-days working visit.
When the president arrived in Addis Ababa, he was welcome by a number of high-level officials including Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Ato Fitsum Arega, the head of the prime minister’s office, told that the Eritrean President Esayas Afeworki will have a discussion about the recent peace agreement and how it was going deep on mutual understanding between the two countries. Ato Fitsum also said that they will also have a discussions on trade and cooperation.
The two countries that have halted the relationship for two decades have renewed their relationship in the past Ethopian year, 2010 by the help of the Ethiopian Prime Minister Doctor Abiy Ahmed.
The two countries have also started airspace, landing, and even their borders which was closed for the past two decades due to a deadly war that costs thousands of souls. They have already opened their embassies and have started regular diplomatic relations. And it was a great achievement for both country leaders.
